Passkeys, explained
Nothing to type. Nothing to steal.
A passkey is a pair of keys: the website keeps the public half, your vault keeps the private half. When you sign in, your device proves it holds the private key — no password crosses the internet, and a fake site can't trick you into giving it up.

Security questions
Can Lumina see my passwords?
No. Your vault is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your master password. We only ever receive and store encrypted data, and we never receive your master password or the key.
What if I forget my master password?
Because we can't decrypt your vault, we can't reset it for you. When you set up Lumina Pass you'll save a recovery kit — keep it somewhere safe and offline. Without the master password or the recovery kit, the vault can't be opened by anyone.
Does it work offline?
Yes. An encrypted copy of your vault lives on your PC, so you can unlock and use it without internet. Changes sync when you're back online.
Which browsers does the extension support?
Chromium-based browsers on Windows. The extension talks to Lumina Pass on your PC and fills logins and passkeys right on the page.
What happens to my vault if I cancel Pro?
You'll always be able to unlock and export your vault. Syncing and adding new items are Pro features.
